About

So we've moved out to the woods, far, far away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Follow our rural adventures, and see a little of what inspires us as we work in the studio.

Our lives are reflected in the way we inhabit spaces; the things we collect, the things we discard, and all the little gaps in between.
Our studio space surely says much about us, and in the near future we’ll share a series of photographs from the mundane to the curious that hint at what informs how, and why, we make.
For now, here is a glimpse of Victoria’s desk.

We love…

The feel of a well thumbed page,
The notes left in the margin of a much loved book,
The tanin stain in a favourite tea cup,
The smell of vintage fabric, repeatedly starched,
The crackle of a record played and played,
The unexpected letter from a dear, old friend,
The last day of summer and the first, crisp frost…

For such a long time we quelled the urge to run away to the wilderness, but finally the need for trees and fields and inky black night skies won through.
In late Spring we upped sticks and found a bit of earth to call our own amidst historical woodland and endless meadows.
For two self-confessed townies, setting up a home, studio and workshop in such beautiful surroundings feels like the most wonderful (and ridiculous) adventure, or social experiment.
What we lack in knowledge, we make up for in hopeful enthusiasm.
Life can be golden.
